When a retailer enters a country with existing fiscal law, he needs somebody to explain how the POS related processes should work and which and how the fiscal laws have to be implemented.

As these topics are complex and deeply influence the existing customer business processes, Service Plus always recommends the following approach:

  1. Preparation of the documentation, describing the local requirements with special focus on fiscal topics.
    In this step, Service Plus will prepare and update the documentation, describing the local country requirements. This document is the basis for further and more detailed discussions with the retailer and the application vendor.
  2. Workshop with the target to explain all related issues, to discuss business processes, to compare required processes with existing processes of the customer and to create the design of the country specific solution (e.g. which printer should be used, what are the best practices in the country ….). Within this workshop, also implementation related issues will be discussed. Therefore it`s mandatory, that architects of the POS software vendor are participating in this workshop.
  3. Implementation.
    In this step, the software vendor is working on the integration of the fiscal devices and implementing other country specific requirements. Besides the provision of technical documentation and development units, Service Plus will provide direct developer support to the POS software vendor. If needed, Service Plus can provide hardware related developments, e.g. drivers or other country or customer specific modules.
  4. Verification of the fiscal solution
    After the integration of the fiscal elements and development of other country requirements, Service Plus recommends, to execute a joint testing session. Based on many previously implemented projects we can provide many test cases, which are related to the country specifics. Within this step, the retailer, the POS Software Vendor and Service Plus will testi the country version of the POS application.
  5. Installation procedures
    This task can be run in parallel to all other steps. The target is, to define exactly, how the rollout of the stores should be done. This topic is crucial, as there are steps, which affords  interaction with the local authorities and refers to every installed fiscal device. Besides the process related agreement, it must be clarified, how the installation has to take place (from technical point of view) and which resources are needed. Service Plus recommends to follow the way of best-practice.
  6. Support and Maintenance
    This task can be run in parallel to all other steps. Service Plus will negotiate the SLAs and come to an agreement referring the levels of fiscal related support in the country.
